Chesapeake Home Care is proud to present Danyel Edmonds as the March 2017 Home Health Aide employee of the month. Upon graduation from High School, Danyel started her work career as a cake decorator at a local bakery. Soon after, Danyel was called upon to care for her great-grandmother who was suffering from dementia. During this experience Danyel realized that she had a gift to help others. Danyel was asked by other friends and family members to care for them. These positive experiences prompted Danyel’s grandmother, a registered nurse, to encourage Danyel to pursue CNA/GNA certification at Morgan State University. She graduated in August 1999.
Since graduation Danyel has cared for clients in a variety of settings during her 15 year career: Outpatient, Long Term Care, Inpatient Hospital, and Private Duty. Danyel states ” My passion is to be 1:1 with my client”. Danyel is able to fulfill her passion as a live-in Home Care HHA. For the past two years, Danyel has cared for a client that describes Danyel as her “princess”. The client’s family state Danyel is “comforting and supportive to our mother and us during difficult times”. “Danyel is a great caregiver and companion to our Mom, she is very caring and loving”.
Danyel loves to spend time with her family and friends. She enjoys skating, bowling, shopping, movies, game note, attending plays and concerts.
Danyel states ” If I make a difference in one person’s life, I have served my purpose”. Danyel has far exceeded making a difference in one person’s life, she makes a difference to all the clients she cares for.
